Centurt 21 Realty
First the basics. Established in 1990, Park Lane Estates is located in Edmond, Oklahoma near the intersection of Danforth and Santa Fe. Homes in the neighborhood range in size from 1600 to 2400 square feet. However, the majority are less than 2000 square feet. Last year (2009) the average sold price was $142,000 and homes sold in an average of just 27 days! Kiddos in our neighborhood attend Ida Freeman Elementary, Central Middle School, and Edmond North High School.
The neighborhood is very convenient to shopping at Walmart, Kohls, and more. On a sunny day it is not uncommon to see neighbors walking to and from the area stores. There are a few restaurants nearby including Buffalo Wild Wings, Quizno's, KFC, and Papa Murphy's.
We have an active homeowners association. Annual dues are just $85. Our HOA hosts several neighborhood events each year including National Night Out and a 4th of July Bike Parade and Picnic at the park. (The playground equipment at the park was replaced about two years ago.) The addition was even names as a Five Star Neighborhood by former Mayor Dan O'Neil in 2008!
While I hate to see some of my neighbors move, I welcome new friends to our neighborhood! If you are interested in learning more about any of the available homes in Park Lane Estates, ask a Realtor that lives there. Give me a call at 405.615.2796. It's a great place to call home, I do!
Park Lane Estates Covenants and Restrictions
A Century 21 real estate agent? Do you aspire to be a C21 sales person who wears the traditional gold jacket? Being part of one of the largest real estate organizations in North America is always a very important consideration for a new licensed agent or experienced.
Why become a Century 21 real estate agent? Today as the Brokerage business grows and keeps growing with Offices springing up everywhere, the need for educating sales people is becoming more important than ever. Joining a real estate broker that has an in-house training program could be the difference between winning and losing in this sales game.
Traditionally, an aspiring Realtor would attend the required courses, get their license registered with a Franchise Brokerage. They would do this based on the promise that they would be taught how to be successful. The reality of the real estate sales business is that most people will find it very difficult to make a good living at it. Your chances of success will increase with an organization that will take you by the hand and teach you. As a Century 21 real estate agent you will have the support you need but since most offices are now independently owned and operated, do your due diligence with your interviews.
Ah, the wonderful world of Franchises. Franchises are here to make a profit, period! The real estate business is no different. A Brokerage must make money to support the Broker/Owner, staff, and other fixed operating expenses. Hold on now..the Franchisor will also take their cut of the profits too. Where does all this money come from? Yes, the real estate agent. You can join to become a Century 21 real estate agent or you can join another franchise and you will still experience a good cut of your commissions going to keep the franchise and the franchisor in business. This could be a good thing since it is in their best interest for them to motivate you and train you to sell, sell, sell.
I believe franchise real estate brokers out number the non franchise brokerages in the USA and Canada. Private companies can be and some are, just a good as their counterparts. Image, training, staff support and ongoing support including new licensed real estate graduates. Instead of being a century 21 real estate agent, can you be a real estate agent representing ABC realty? Sure you can and it is happening all over North America and the world. Do you need an established image to get you in the door? It certainly helps but it is not needed to the self motivated agent who does not require someone to hold his or her hand when making a sale. There are a lot of courses out there that will teach you know how..look them up.
In summary, only you know how you feel about the above and everyone is different. There really is no right or wrong answer. People have been successful in both situations and will continue to be. It is your duty to yourself to weigh the pros and cons. I have been a Realtor for 25 years and counting. It is a great business if you focus more on client relationships and service. It does not matter what jacket you wear, whether gold, brown, black or red. What matters is that you are happy and proud when you are wearing it and if that is the jacket worn by a century 21 real estate agent, I congratulate you and welcome you as my fellow Realtor!
